They have had regular rave reviews from companies like Radio 1 and various magazines including vogue and FHM, describing this site as the ‘hottest dating website in the UK’, and I thoroughly enjoyed doing the MySingleFriend reviews this year
The layout and design of the site is quite trendy in comparison with many other dating sites. Simple but bold pink and blue colours define the page and are used to colour code the different sections for a smoother journey. With the clear and concise text and fun icons it makes the site reasonably easy to use. The main point of this dating site is basically to let your friends get involved in your dating journey and kind of recommend you to other single people, so if you have a friend that you think deserves more than sitting at home alone every night then what a perfect way to show them that, than to help them find them that special person to spend their life with.
I think the system works well, as this way you can then find out what the other users friends think of them, instead of just a normal profile written by them. We all know it matters to us what our friends think of our chosen partner and this site enables you to get the real picture by the people that know them the best. And they get to do most of the work for you as well, which is an added bonus! |Don’t worry though, you can sign up yourself but if you choose to do it this way you will need to enter a friends name and email address for them to ‘recommend’ you. If like me you have friends that like to play practical jokes and you are worried what they will write, fear not because everything that is written down or any photos, have to have your consent before it can be published. You either have the options of searching, for free, all the available singles yourself, or if you’re a friend that is doing it for someone then you can ‘bookmark’ profiles, called matchmaking, and store them in a folder for your friend to browse and narrow down your search with a simple click of a button if there is no interest. You could even sign up for a friend and give it to them for a Christmas present!
There are 7 stages of registering for a friend, including registering their personal details, telling the site a bit about your friend, likes and dislikes, personality etc, then looking and choosing profiles to store and completing some of the profile. All of the details are then sent to your friends email address for them to give consent, confirm details and complete the profile and then you are notified when the profile goes ‘live’ and can be viewed by everyone. I noticed that even though the site seems to be modern and trendy, this did not make a difference to the variety of ages and choices that are available to you, it seems to work for many of any age, as the success stories(accessed by a simple link) show .
If you are registering for yourself, the process is just as easy and the only extra thing is that you give friends details to confirm your registration and when they accept you can then begin your journey.
The search facilities are large, varied and very straightforward to use. Set out simply but effectively and the photos included are clear and concise. Unfortunately when you do find a profile that interests you, there is not the usual facility to use an icebreaker like a wink or smile, in case you are a little shy to start conversations, but as your friends are involved it does make it easier because all the friends are linked too so starting conversations becomes a lot easier when the members friends are spilling all the stories on them! The best way to get to know more! There is no facility for instant messaging or video links like other sites either, but I really don’t think that matters here, I think email is adequate enough.
I was very satisfied with what the free service offered, including notifications of people that are showing an interest in your profile, create your profile and view others profiles, but I still would recommend obtaining a subscription as there is plenty of other advantages included, like easily accessible links to dating tips and general advice with relationship experts and with their in-house doctor ‘fred’ obviously and most importantly the ability to communicate by email between subscribers. There are 3 subscription packages available from 1 month through to 6 months-with the facilities available and the dedicated customer service team that are on hand to help at any stage throughout the process, I am my opinion they are extremely good for money and worth entering into. There are also plenty of promotional discounts and offers available including free months where for the whole month you get to use the site as if you were a paying member, so look out for them as well, as a paying member though you are regularly kept updated on special offers like this and many more. The customer service team at mysinglefriend is a strong one and seems genuinely dedicated to helping you along every step of the way. The site is regularly policed, for unsuitable photos, language or anything strange regarding profiles, you can easily report anything or anyone that makes you feel uncomfortable and if found to be upheld the profile and all details will be removed. In the opposite corner there is a big community of success stories and exchange of information and whatever it is you are looking for I am confident that mysingle friend dating site can help. Its fun, sassy, smooth and successful and you have nothing to lose, so go on, and give it a try.
